Two people died Saturday morning after their snowmachine struck a moose near the Kuskokwim River village of Aniak, according to Alaska State Troopers. Tim DeSpain, a troopers spokesman, said the collision near Aniak’s airport was reported to troopers at about 7 a.m. Saturday.

A man is in an Anchorage hospital early Sunday, after Anchorage police say he was shot late Saturday evening in Muldoon. Officers responded just before 10 p.m. Saturday to the 8000 block of East 36th Avenue near the Tudor-Muldoon Road curve, according to APD spokeswoman Nora Morse.

Anchorage: Police say shots were fired Thursday evening inside the Muldoon Fred Meyer. APD was called to the Fred Meyer location in the 7700 block of Debarr Road Thursday evening. Renee Oistad, spokesperson for APD, says one shot was fired inside the store after a confrontation between two groups of young adults escalated.

A Juneau man was stabbed inside his own home Thursday evening, according to police. Juneau Police were called to a home in the 300 block of Fourth Street in downtown just before 7 p.m. Thursday on reports that 39-year-old Lucas Schneider was refusing to leave the residence of the complainant, a 44-year-old Juneau resident.

A collision involving an in-route ambulance and a privately owned vehicle leaves at least one dead and several others injured, along Knik-Goose Bay Road. The two-vehicle collision was reported at 1:50 p.m. Thursday, at Mile 5 of the road, according to Mat-Su Department of Emergency Services Director Otto Feather.

A 25-year-old man was arrested overnight Tuesday in a high-speed Wasilla chase, which Alaska State Troopers say ended after he crashed a stolen car. The chase which led to Anchorage resident Nicholas Thomas being taken into custody began just before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to an online dispatch, when troopers saw a vehicle “driving recklessly” through the parking lot of the Wasilla Walmart.

Alaska State Troopers say an Anchorage woman arrested Monday morning in Soldotna sexually assaulted a young child in the early hours of New Year’s Day. Troopers said in an online dispatch that they were called at about 4:30 a.m. to a Soldotna residence where they arrested 54-year-old Laura Kroto.
