Police say a suspected burglary Saturday night led to thousands of dollars in damages at a middle school. Police say 34-year-old Shawn Beaird was located inside the Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School. “Investigation showed that Beaird had forcibly entered the school, damaged property inside the school which is estimated to be valued at about $4,500, and stolen a small amount of cash,” police wrote in a release Sunday night.

A man arrested Friday in connection with a deadly shooting last month, as well as a robbery of a South Anchorage business, was muted in court Sunday after making obscenities during his arraignment. Aarron Settje, 32, made obscene gestures and used offensive language towards the court while he was being arraigned on charges for multiple robberies and evidence tampering in the January shooting death of 33-year-old Kortez Brown.
Alaska State Troopers received a call earlier today from a citizen claiming to have been robbed.

Anchorage Police have arrested two people for the shooting death of Juanita Lolesio. One of the suspects is 19-years-old and faces a second-degree murder charge, the other is an unidentified juvenile who has charges pending. Anchorage police say three people are facing charges after two groups of people engaged in a firefight outside the Northway Mall Saturday, with at least two other suspects still at large. APD spokesman MJ Thim said that shots were fired at about 12:30 p.m. near Shockwave, a trampoline park for children at the mall. Nobody was injured, but several vehicles outside the mall were struck by gunfire.

Anchorage Police say 25-year-old Jacob Orr crawled through a window into a victim's home a number of times this summer, sometimes stealing things.
